On orders less than $100, return shipping charges will be included in the billing for credit cards, or a payment by credit card or check will be required for other forms of payment. Do you really have to preorganize your materials? No. If you prefer not to organize everything beforehand, which can be difficult due to the size of slides and negatives, just send everything in to us so we can scan it. You can organize your images later after we post them to your personal web gallery. There you'll be able to review your images and organize them into albums which can be used to create the different slideshows, chapters and titles. How to Prepare Your Slides Slides do not have to be remove from carousels, but this makes it difficult for organizing them into groups and will significantly increase your shipping costs. Kodachrome slides need to be scanned with different parameters than Ektachrome and other slide films. If you are requesting data files only and not organizing your slides into groups for a slideshow, please separate the Kodachrome slides into an individual group. There is no need to separate plastic and paper mounts since we load the slides manually. If you would like your scanned images organized into folders or have ordered a slideshow or compilation with chapters or titles, please separate your slides into groups using label them with the title. You can number the slides if you would like them scanned in a specific order. After grouping your slides, bundle them so that the will not move around and scratch the film surface. How to Prepare Your Negatives Processed films are usually returned in strips of 4-6 frames in a plastic sleeve. Indicate on the sleeve which frames you would like scanned. USE A SOFT TIP MARKER TO AVOID DAMAGING THE FILM! Bundle negatives together and label them with the group name. How to Prepare Your Photos Organize your photos into groups as described above, if needed. Place them in a photo mailer or between two pieces of particulate free cardboard bound by rubber bands. We recommend protecting the photo from the cardboard with sheets acid free paper. How to Prepare Your Videos Organize and group your short tapes according to which DVD movie, chapter, and title they belong. If it is a long VHS tape, make a time table for the video specifying the timepoint for each chapter and title. Pack the groups of tapes so that they are protected during shipping. Final Steps If you are making a compilation DVD of scanned images and digitized video, create a master list of the groups for each DVD according to chapter and title. Each Chapter will be a menu item, and there can be multiple titles within each chapter. |
